[So I had all of two hours sleep. So instead of having a nice sedate dream about meadows or rainbows or the one where I can eat grass, no, I had to have a vivid, weirdo one!]
In this one I start out as a detective, looking into a case where apparently the victims are murdered brutally, but that the blood is so denatured we can't use sniffer dogs to find the criminal. In this particular scenario sniffer dogs are the ultimate, they find the murderer by hunting down the blood scent on their bodies. Terribly impressive! [I think this was influenced by a 'Mythbusters' episode I saw a few weeks back, I was most in awe of that dog’s nose!]
So there are three of us on the case. Tall blonde lady in a red shirt, beige skirt, and glasses. The detective, super tall, dark, broody, you know the sort. And a third character which is basically a black, human shaped fuzziness, like the camera couldn't focus on him right or he's blocked out because he's a known kiddy perp or some such.
The three tended to argue a lot and I kept changing who I am between the three, so their opinions kept changing as well. [I blame this bit for the bed covers that ended up on the floor]
See we know who the killer is. It's this 10 year old blonde girl [what's with all the blondes?] with a very wicked, vicious smile. A child prodigy who decided to go kill off people instead of building models of DNA or beating computers at chess.
We just have two problems.
1. We can't prove it. And two of my characters are always saying, “no it couldn't be her!” and because it's never the same two characters it gets a bit annoying.
2. We've not seen any of the dead bodies. Closest was an arm with a tiny bit of watery blood on it. So we don't know how many are dead, what they died from, and what sort of fashion sense they had!
We also don't know anything about this girl other then that she likes to pop up at crime scenes and laughing a grand, classically maniacal laugh. I think my trio are a touch envious.
The one time we manage to see her in a crowd we try to give chase. But one moment I’m the detective hot on her heels, the next the blonde who’s doubling back, then amorphous guy and the continuous changing messes with all three of them and gets them all confused and bad girl gets away with room to spare. I suspect she’s figured out that we’re a very messed up group. Time to move on me thinks!
It takes me ages to be able to get into that small, psycho’s head and leave my lame brained trio behind. And she’s a refreshing change! She lives on the top of a large block of flats that, curiously enough, has a tree growing from it, right through the centre with branches coming out of the windows. She stays in a small shack on said roof, with a bunch of about 7 cats, all black or white. She sits in the sun and pats them and talks to them.
Her mind is fascinating. Very ordered and logical. Oh she is a killer for sure. She does it because it’s interesting. And she likes interesting things. She thinks she was influenced by either having no video games as an outlet or a lack of good television programs. She’s very calm about it. I think we’d have gotten on well.
One thing I do know is that my trio won’t ever catch her. And I’m rather happy about this. If you’re going to get caught, (and if you’re a mass murderer you probably should be, so you can go to jail and make new friends and learn new skills), then at least get caught by someone on parr with your own intelligence.
And besides, the sun is so very nice today.
